Didier Meynard - Boddhisatvas [4/6]
This artwork, made by Didier Meynard, is part of the Boddhisatvas series. Showing his versatile creative skills, Didier creates an elegant aquatint through which we can recognize peculiarities typical of the French master's artistic production. In particular, the composition, which is inspired by the Buddhist iconography (“bodhisattva” is a Buddhist term used to identify enlightened beings who have put off entering paradise in order to help others attain enlightenment) recalls the language expressed by his pictorial silhouettes series, highlighting his “primitive minimalism” and the genuineness of Japanese aesthetic.
Aquatint, copper etching and Japanese paper, cm 76x57.
