Virginia Vargas - Due Donne Kimono al Tempio
The artwork Due Donne Kimono al Tempio (“Two women in kimono at the temple”), made by Virginia Vargas, is part of a limited black and white series, in which the artist proposes deeply realistic images related to contemporary life, exotic cultures and folklore. Showing her refined artistic skills, Vargas illustrates a Japanese traditional scene. In particular, the partial view is devoted to the portrait of two women in kimonos on the steps of the Kyōdō Hal (a sutra depository dating back to 1633) of the Kiyomizu-dera (a Buddhist temple in eastern Kyoto).
Ink on paper, cm 33x48. A black frame is included.
